It seemed it had been an eternity since she had last been to any formal school event even though it had only been a little more than a year-maybe. It was wired being back. Seeing all the people she use to be really close to. She was happy she had Shane with her though. When she went to school her they really weren’t the greatest of friends. It was just one of those quick hello relationship. Now he is her best and closest friend. And here she was at St. Thomas’ prom with him. Ok they really weren’t ‘together’ like dating but even though Katherine expected it to be awkward when he showed up at her house to take her to prom it wasn’t. It almost felt right in a way. She was happy, not what she was expecting to feel going back to her old stomping grounds. But here she was smiling, laughing, and hanging out with Shane. She felt like her old, not having to worry about anything, self. She was going to remember this evening forever. She knew that from the moment she walked outside of her bedroom in her and her aunts apartment to see Shane standing there in his black suit.

Shane had lately been feeling differently about Katherine but he wasn't sure if she felt the same. So, as soon as he saw her coming out of her bedroom at her Aunt's apartment; his heart skipped a beat. He walked over to where she was and, slipped his arm underneath hers and escorted her to his car.
As soon as they got to the prom, he opened the door for her and let her get out of the car before he shut the door again then locked the car. He looked around, and didn't really see any point to going inside so he just thought it'd be better for the both of them to get some alone time. Just to hang out in the court yard talking, and laughing. That was his definition of how an evening between friends should be. Although, he started to wonder how she'd react to him kissing her or something. She'd probably freak out. So, he decided against it. Except, that was a harder decision for him to make than he expected it to be.
Shane couldn't keep himself from just.. Staring at her, she was so beautiful. Every time she laughed, his heart skipped a beat once more. He didn't want this night to end, and he also knew that he'd remember this night forever. He wondered if she was feeling the same way as he was. But, that was apparent due to the fact that she was smiling up a storm. And, never once did she start frowning about anything. Once again he had an internal struggle about if he should kiss her or not. And, he had no idea which part would win. But, he didn't want to freak her out.. Whatsoever.

It was a beautiful evening for this time of year. The place looked amazing though. They didn’t actually go in though they just wondered around in the courtyard. The moon was shining bright above them. It gave everything a magical glow. She had never seen anything like it. And getting to be here with Shane made it all the better. It was wired to think about her feelings for Shane. To think about all the times she ignored him when she was still the “queen” I guess you could say. She had barley even gave him more than a friendly smile. It seemed everything had changed with her friendships has changed. Her best friends are now her enemies and people she barley even knew were now her closest of friends.
Katherine took a seat at the edge of the fountain and looked down at the water. It too was absorbing the light of the full moon. She turned to Shane. She looked down at the water and then back up at Shane. “How has school been going?” She asked. “I know I normally don’t want to talk about it but I don’t know. But everything here reminds me of it here.” She said looking around the courtyard. It was decorated with big banners with the school’s name of it. Some even with the students. The school colors were everywhere. “What about you? I mean I know you are in culinary and all but you never really mention your friends…” She said looking back at his face.

Shane looked over at Katherine, and shrugged slightly whenever she had asked him about how school was going.. And about his friends. "Friends..? Hah. Funny you should ask that, my only closest friend is right here with me..." he beamed at her. He knew that he was feeling differently for her but still, she was a friend of his and a really good one at that.
And, as far as how school was going.. He really didn't care to be honest. He was just in a hurry to get out. Nothing really mattered to him as far as school went, nothing at all. Sure, he was a culinary major.. But, that was the only thing that really mattered. Nothing else did whatsoever. He shrugged slightly and began to speak up once more, "Truth be told, I could careless about what's really going on at school... I'm just really more focused on getting out. And of course, perfecting my culinary arts. No pun intended on that one." he smirked slightly after saying that.
He leaned in closer to her, and kissed her on the cheek. There, that's all he was going to even think about doing for now. He honestly didn't want to freak her out. He blushed slightly, and decided it was better to play it off as an accident.. "Sorry..." he trailed off, still blushing.
