You have to be fucking kidding me!? Josh yelled into the phone as he pressed the end button and tossed it carelessly onto his bed. He shook his head and kicked his trash can in frustration, watching the piece of tin tumble to the floor. He grimaced and mumbled under his breath. He didn't like being ordered what to do, as if rules actually applied to him, but this circumstance involved money and Josh never turned down such important paper. Then again, this money was in the hands of someone he detested and really wanted no part of.
Apparently his father had sent Josh's check to Hannah, which meant if Josh wanted to retrieve it he would have to go to Hannah's stupid dorm and get it himself. Sounded easy, right? All he had to do was go to his sister’s lair, knock on the door, and pick up his check. Well... it was never that easy. Not with Hannah and Josh, them two in one room was a recipe for disaster.
He knew why his father had given the check to Hannah; he could not tolerate or stand Hannah and his evident sibling rivalry. He just wanted everyone to basically kiss and make up. Yeah, well this was not a fairytale and in real life, not everyone gets along, fuck sunshine and rainbows. He didn't care if Hannah was his only blood related sibling; no one said you had to get along with your blood related siblings just because you have the same mommy and daddy. The same mommy and daddy that Hannah had managed to split up and self-destruct their marriage. No, he could not stand her. He could not tolerate a lot of people. A bunch of fucking peasants at St. Thomas that he should not even be in the same room as, a plethora of people that were below his standard, really just a bunch of low class adolescents.
He slammed the door behind him with clear cut frustration as he made his way to Hannah's dorm. Fuck it he wanted his money. Usually they avoided each other at all costs but he underestimated his father, apparently he was smart enough to know the one possible thing that would make Josh be in the same facility as Hannah was green paper. People say money does not buy happiness, well Josh laughed in their faces. That is the words of a poor person. People say they would choose love over money. Please, those were the words of a lonely bachelor. With overloads of money the sky is the limit. Money is the key to a successful, plentiful life. And you think the rules even apply to you when you have money? Nope. You would be surprised how much people will bend the rules when you wave a little cash in front of their face. Then suddenly people become a lot more lenient about what you can and cannot do.
He knew that this visit would end in an all out grudge match. Hannah was a little bitch, a brat that he could hardly even stand to look at. Was it wrong to hate your sibling? No, not in his eyes. Josh disliked almost everyone. He was critical and to him, everyone stood on a podium below him, less important. He had not spoken to Hannah in awhile. For both of them having quite the high profile at school, they did a expert job at avoiding each other. Granted, their relationship was not always like this, basically a fucking mess. Before the divorce they were close. But how are you supposed to forgive someone who separates your parents? He didn’t care what Hannah thought, she was to blame. She was to blame for their parent’s broken marriage and he wanted nothing to do with her.
Josh stood in front of her door for awhile before even knocking. He was actually contemplating leaving, but then he remembered that behind that door there was a big, fat check with is name on it. The thought was enough to convince Josh to stay as he lightly knocked on the door. He was going to try to make this as quick and painless as possible. A voice in the back of his head laughed, You are kidding right!? He shook the thought, irritated. Right now he wanted to deck his father. He didn’t care what his father wanted, he didn’t care what anyone wanted, Josh just cared about himself. Screw other people’s feelings right now, looking out for other people only means you will get screwed in the end. Be nice and generous and people will take advantage of you. Not Josh, he didn’t play the nice card. People were not going to walk all over him and he made that known pretty quickly. He leaned up against the wall, Open up the damn door already,he mumbled under his breath. He knew she had to be here.
