What an absolutely terrible looking day, or at least to Hiroko it was, to many people who found rainy days awesome would be quite pleased to write their poetry to the sound of thunder. But for all of Hiroko's dark personality quirks that many people disliked, she did have a few normal ones, one of these was the enjoyment of a sunny day, even if she wasn't out enjoying it. Stormy weather always reminded her of other events, none of them good. Only idiots found true inspiration from weather and not from another source. But then again, who was Hiroko to judge? She was not a writer, nor a musician, nor a poet. She had known a few and knew they weren't all complete idiots. Another good question popped into her head, why was she feeling so generous with her mental assesments?
A loud peal of thunder cut through the South Dakota sky, causing even Hiroko to flinch slightly as she entered the grocery store. She couldn't help but spare a look around the store, as though to make sure no one had seen her flinch. A small chuckle escaped Hiroko's thin lips as she shook her head slightly, her wet hair dragging along the back of her coat. When did she start to care what other people though? Oh, always of course, she was human, everyone did care, anyone who said they didn't were lying through their little teeth. But Hiroko didn't let it bother her all that much, she would admit, yes, that at times it did. The primal instinct of wanting to connect to other people was strong, very strong, but Hiroko knew what a futile attempt it would be to try to connect to people now. She had dug her social grave, now she must lay in it.
Snapping up a basket with a quick move, Hiroko moved through the nearly empty grocery store and started picking up random items that she enjoyed. Mostly some snack food, instant coffee, well, a lot of instant coffee, and other nick-knacks. After about fifteen minutes of foraging, she stood there in the aisle, holding her basket with both her hands, her head down looking into her basket. A strong need to just stay away from the dorm was rising up like bile in her throat. Why was this? Hiroko stood there, pondering the question for a few moments. Because of Trent of course. The bastard. As the days had passed since he had punched her she had at first felt hurt, emotionally, now she just felt nothing but anger towards him. Idiot, even though her face wasn't hurting anymore it was still bruised.
With a shuddering sigh, her arms already aching from holding the barely full basket, she trudged up to the front of the store. The sky was nearly pitch black with clouds, surprising even Hiroko. A freak storm had been blown in and the rain was coming down in heavy sheets. Hiroko disliked the idea of walking all the way to the back of the parking lot where her vehicle was parked with a bag of groceries. Her eyes narrowed, a pulse of anger rippled through her brain, she was pissed at the rain, pissed at her situation, all of it. But she set the basket down and picked up a magazine, hopefully the rain would let up soon.

Aerynne hated going out into the rain but she needed some things from the store. She was in the produce section whenever a woman around her age caught her eye. She headed over into the woman's direction. Then she realized who the woman was.. She was Hiroko. Sure, she had met her before but something about her still striked her as mysterious. She couldn't quite figure it out.
Aerynne smirked slightly as she glanced at Hiroko's basket. Pretty much filled with some of the stuff that Aerynne had in her basket. She regained eye contact with Hiroko before speaking up, "Hello Hiroko. How are you? Despite this rainy day." the reasoning behind why did most people inquire about others felt, was a mystery to Aerynne. One that she probably would never figure out.
It made no sense at all to her, why ask that type of question? Not to mention asking someone what's up or whatcha doing. Those questions always got answered with responses like, "I'm okay." or "I'm up to nothing." or "Nothing much" whenever in all actuality they were up to something or they weren't really okay. They were just trying to avoid answering anything at all costs. It seemed so meaningless to want to be nice to others whenever they felt no use for it.
But, at times Aerynne could really careless if they wanted it or not, she still would be nice to them. Well, up until the point she decided to push them away. Then, the cycle would repeat once more. There was only two people that it didn't seem to end up like that for. And those two people were Hiroko and Vesper. And only them, no one else at all. She knew others would continue to try, but it was only up to her if they succeeded or not. Most of them failed to pass the test that was in front of them. It was some kinda unwritten test that everyone seemed to fail miserably at. Why? Because Aerynne made sure of it.
They weren't worth her time nor were they worth her energy. They mattered very little to her because they were too busy trying to get a good use out of her before they tossed her aside. Well, that's all it seemed to her.
