Jamie hummed quietly as she jogged through the park, her feet hitting in a rhythmic thump-thump on the cement path. Not like she heard it, though. She was too busy listening to Fireworks by Katy Perry. Her iPod was cozzily stuck in her not-so-cool arm band, the earbud cord bobbing as she jogged.
Jamie always hated running. Well, not really just running, it was the most toliterable excercise you could do. No, it was the exercising part that she hated. Since she started learning to be a model, she had started working out. You don't see very many chubby models. Not that Jamie was ever, or could ever be, chubby. She had always been thin, just not fit. Now she needed to be fit.
Jamie stopped for a second under a wonderfully shady oak and sighed. It felt good to work out, she had to admit. Spotting a water fountain, Jamie walked over and pushed the button. Taking a sip, she smiled slightly at the chill of the water. She didn't really care like most people did about the germs that could be on it, she never had. God made dirt, right? That was at least her thought process.
Pushing a few loose strings of hair out of her eyes, Jamie looked around the area. It was a nice park; very well taken care of. The weather was nice, too. Then she noticed an ice cream vender. Deciding to splurg, she walked over and pulled out her wallet form her back pocket. She bought a nice, cold, chocolaty cone and walked to a near by bench to sit and eat.
Licking her ice cream, Jamie watched the people go by. She thought about the odd feelings she had been having latly. They scared her a bit, but she didn't worry much about it. It was probably a phase or hormones or something.

IF I HAD YOU, THAT WOULD BE THE ONLY THING I'D EVER NEED... * ~ IF I HAD YOU, THE MONEY, FAME, & FORTUNE NEVER COULD ~ COMPETE , IF I HAD YOU , LIFE WOULD BE A PARTY IF I HAD YOU !!
[/blockquote][/blockquote] God, jogging was the best. Joelle Caitlin Evans-Shade absolutely loved the feeling it gave her. Lexy had told her a couple of years ago, something about exercising making you happy because of some chemical reaction or something...? But Joelle wasn't smart. Not academically. So she honestly didn't care why it made her happy to exercise. The point was that it did, and it made her look good.
Of course, she had to drink a lot of apple juice. Why, in God's name, would Joelle be drinking water? She hated water. She hated everything to do with it. Never mind the fact that most drinks had water in them... She tried not to think about that. In fact, a lot of the time, she tried not to think about why she hated water in general. She didn't like to think about her parents a lot.
Well, obviously, she liked to think about them. The four years she'd had to know them. She didn't like to think about them dying. Drowning, to be specific. Hence the water fear.
Crap, now she was thinking about that horrible storm! Hiding in the living room curtains with Lexy, who she hated at that particular moment in time, while the babysitter, Melissa, tried to convince the two of them to come upstairs and go to bed. And then Melissa singing to them, and then waking up in the morning to find her asleep on the couch, their parents nowhere in the house. Watching as Melissa turned white after answering the phone. The confusion as she and Lexy quickly packed their things and went to their grandparents' house. They hadn't known for at least a week that their parents had drowned.
Trying to clear her head as she ran, Joelle spotted a girl a couple of years younger than her, maybe. She recognized her, vaguely. She'd seen her in the halls at school. Joelle had no idea what form of the arts the girl was interested in. Definitely not music. She would know her name if she was involved in the music program.
The girl was sitting on a bench, eating a chocolate ice cream cone. Joelle nearly laughed. Way to exercise... Because the girl was totally out for a jog. Or... supposed to be. She was wearing jogging clothes, at least. So unless she normally dressed like that, she was out for a run. Joelle smiled a little as she sat down next to the girl. "Ice cream kind of ruins the point of exercising, doesn't it?"
