Lindsay noticed how the other boy's voice was so soft. It was kind of cute and sort of intrigued him. He only nodded as the other boy thanked him, continuing to smile all the while. In the back of his mind, he wondered where they went since they hadn't gone to the same cross-ties he took Devi. Shaking his head, he halted Devi near the entrance to the trails and pulled down one stirrup and then the other. She was a tall horse and he wasn't very tall himself, but he somehow managed to mount without a mounting block. He got comfortable as he slipped his boot into the other stirrup. Picking up the reins, he nudged Devi's sides with his heels, and she moved forward into a steady trot.
He looked around at the scenery as he posted, taking in the beauty and enjoying the serenity. Devi seemed to be quite relaxed, but curious of what was ahead. Lindsay noted this, but was sure she wouldn't do anything stupid. If she did, he would most likely end up on the ground - and she was a big horse, so it was a far fall from her back. Up ahead, he saw noticed another horse and rider coming toward them. The horse looked like the one the boy had earlier, so he assumed it was them. He noticed the horse looked extremely nervous and the boy halted him, which only made matters worse; the horse then reared and thrashed the air violently with his fore legs.
Biting his lower lip, Lindsay gasped as the boy was thrown from the horse. Quickly jumping off of Devi, he ran over toward him, but stopped short as he stood himself up. Sighing deeply with relief, he gave him a small smile. "Sorry?" he asked, puzzled, "No need to be." He went back over to Devi and grabbed the reins, leading her toward the other boy, but stopping short yet again. "Umm.. he doesn't like her, does he?" he asked, gesturing toward the boy's gelding.
