Everything was perfect, or damn near close to it. Elliot had a 4.0 g.p.a. and his father is letting him use his grandfathers acoustic as well. The beautiful epiphone that his grandfather played on his Rubber Soul album and in his favorite scene int he movie Help! Just looking at it made Elliot smile big. It was his choice selection for the day. He emerged from the bathroom having finished brushing his teeth and showering heavily. He held his towel snug around his waist as he headed to his closet, where he relieved it of his average attire of black tight slacks, was white button down, black skinny tie, black italian dress boots, his slim black blazer and combed his hair into a mop. he looked like a replica of his idol, his grandfather, when he was his age. He picked up the acoustic and his moped keys and headed for the door. On the way out he remembered he had a solo gig at the cafe'. He knew he'd have to mentally prepare himself to do his first live show, especially with him doing it solo with the house band.
He hoped on his moped and started it up, letting it purr for a while as he placed his helmet on. Afterward he sped off to the cafe' with his guitar strapped into the back basket. He parked a block away from the cafe'. He walked up to the door and entered to see the place packed. It gave him a tiny nervous vibe as he headed backstage. A middle aged man smiled at him "You must be Elliot Lennon, I'm Douglas Winslow, the house drummer" he greeted and Elliot shook his hand "Nice to meet ye" he responded in his accent "A Liverpudlian? Ah, takes me back to my childhood. The good ol' days of rock and roll..come along we go up soon" the man said and Elliot nodded. He followed him and waited for about 30 minutes but then they had to go on. Elliot stepped up the microphone with his grandfather's guitar in hand. The house band began to steadily play and Elliot joined in, strumming along as he let his voice echo into the microphone as the house band did accompanying vocals
"If I fell in love with you Would you promise to be true And help me understand 'cause I've been in love before And I found that love was more Than just holding hands
Only Elliot sang and played for the beginning with the band joining in with their vocals too on the next verse.
If I give my heart to you I must be sure From the very start That you would love me more than her
If I trust in you, oh please Don't run and hide If I love you too, oh please Don't hurt my pride like her 'cause I couldn't stand the pain And I would be sad if our new love was in vain
So I hope you see that I Would love to love you And that she will cry When she learns we are two cause I couldn't stand the pain and I would be sad if our new love was in vain
so I hope you see that I would love to love you and that she will cry when she learns we are two."
After he finished singing he strummed for only a moment longer before climatically finishing it. He let out a sigh feeling like the day couldn't get anymore perfect. The crowd cheered and it roared for a while. He didn't know a coffee shop could get so charismatic. He smiled as he bowed. He immediately fled the stage and headed for backstage. His solace. Once there he took a deep breath. he did it and everyone liked it. He felt as though he was walking on air. He left backstage and into the open he went. The house band still had more to play "...and ladies and gentlemen, that was Elliot Lennon! A kid who sounds just like John Lennon and looks a lot like him too. Let's give it up for the kid!" Douglas announced and Elliot's face became flushed as he acknowledged everyone's approval and a friendly lady brought him a fresh vanilla cappuccino. He nodded a thank you to her as he took a seat and started sipping to calm himself from the dramatic performance he just displayed

Carter moaned as her alarm went off. She ended up ignoring it for twenty minutes then she remembered why it was set. She jumped out of bed and into the shower. She wrapped her towel around her and threw on the outfit she picked out the day before and grabbed her keys and headed out to her car. She had a yellow and black Dodge Viper so she was practically flying out of the parking lot and onto the main road. She couldn’t believe how much she slept in.
She parked her car around back of the coffee shop and sprinted in. She slowed down then. There was another kid on stage and she didn’t want to disrupt him by making a scene. She listened to his song for a minute nodding her head to the beat of the song he was playing. She shook herself then and proceeded into the backstage area. There she saw Mr. Anderson. He picked out who got to play and who didn’t she walked over to him with her head bowed. He turned his head slightly then once he saw it was her he turned his body completely to face her. “I know I am late. I am sorry my alarm clock didn’t go off.” She lied. ‘Sorry hun but it’s a little late now.’ She gave out a large sigh. “Please Mr. Anderson I busted my butt trying to get here.” She told him. He looked over her then gave her a look. She knew she had won the battle. “Hold on a moment.” He said then disappeared onto the stage. The kid who was just on had finished. When he came out he motioned her onto the stage. Douglas Winslow, the bands drummer, gave her a smile and made the announcement. ‘We have another treat for y’all please welcome Ms. Carter Brown. She and I are going to do a fun edgy song we worked on together.” He gave her a wink and she took her place at the microphone.

She and the rest of the band left the stage once the song was over smiling and laughing. Carter was totally pumped. She wanted to do that another show the rush was better than any high. She made her way to the front of the café and ordered a water. She made her way to one of the small tables in the room. She saw the kid who had been playing before her and decided to go say hi. “Hey you mind if I sit?” She asked the kid. "Your really good. And wow you really do look like John Lennon” She said to him looking him over. "I loved the Beatles I wished more people played like them today.” She added with a smile. “So are you related to John Lennon?” She asked casually.

Elliot watched the next performance with a large smile. her charisma and energy were so "in your face" and her singing was top notch. He could tell her cooperation with Douglas was as strong as his own. He applauded loudly as hey concluded their song. She had the edgy poppy sound which he truly adored from music today. He couldn't help but smile at this, feeling that he had seen someone who would become something big someday. He took a sip of his coffee feeling relaxed as he enjoyed the flavor of it.
He started to stare into the pit of liquid in his cup as he thought hard. He thought about where he was going, where his destination would be. He wanted so much that he feared he wanted too much. His expectations were also too high, it was slightly embarrassing for him at times how he dreamed. Everyone thought he was a long shot dreamer, expecting the most from nothing. He didn't want to be another "I'm famous because there are famous people in my family!" kind of people. he wanted to be his own person at all times.
He was snapped out of his trance by a voice that seemed familiar. He jumped a bit as he turned "No, not at all, please take a seat" he offered and settled himself as he smiled warmly to her. "Thanks, I've been getting told that for years. First me mum and me pap used to say it, now everyone does, doesn't bother me though" he explained and chuckled a little when she made her Beatles statement "That's why I love playing the music like I do, My voice is so similar to..well.." he trailed off and her her question. He figured if he's going to get rid of the secret he might as well start now "He's me grand-pap. Never got to meet em though. He sounds like a straight fellow" he said a little down
He was fairly surprised by her boldness to come and talk to a stranger, he usually did that to other people. He never really had it happen to himself.

‘No, not at all, please take a seat.’ Carter took a seat next to the kid with a friendly smile planted on her face. ‘Thanks, I've been getting told that for years. First me mum and me pap used to say it, now everyone does, doesn't bother me though’ She smiled at his accent. It was rather cute in away. “What type of accent is that? It’s some branch of like English like England English but I can’t put my figure it out…” She said with a laugh. She wasn’t the smartest girl in the world. ‘England English’ she thought to herself letting another laugh slip out. “But anyways what I was meaning to say is that you shouldn’t worry about your looks or whatever cuz just because you look like one of the greatest musicians ever-in my own opinion-“ She said with a wink.”That’s not what’s going to get people to listen to your music. What people look for is something they can relate to and has a killer beat.” She said with a laugh and an eye roll even though it was true. ‘That's why I love playing the music like I do, My voice is so similar to..well…’.He said trailing off. ‘He's me grand-pap. Never got to meet em though. He sounds like a straight fellow.’ He told her. Carter’s mouth dropped but she immediately closed it again. “No way that is so cool.” She said with a friendly smile. “I am just guessing but I am going to say not many people know. But of course I wouldn’t tell anyone myself because you and your family probably came into a lot of money and such and well is would be hard to live a normal life. Or at least semi normal.” She told him. “O by the way I forgot to introduce myself. I am Carter. Carter Brown.”
